True Christianity is discipleship

Luke 9:57-62
The most important aspect of true Christianity is discipleship. Some think to make disciples are what we are called to, especially the eldership of the New Testament Church, which in itself is true. However we need to be a disciple first before we can make any one a true disciple.
Though I believe true discipleship can and will require a heavy cost, yet is the only way to fulfill our call to allow the author and the finisher of our faith. An ongoing abandonment of self by daily repentance through confession and forsaking of our sins will provide us the sustaining grace we need to accomplish the call for true discipleship.
The Three candidates for discipleship illustrate the demands involved in following Jesus. The first incident reaches that an emotional enthusiasm that has not considered the cost of abandoning material security is insufficient. The Second candidates illustrates that loyalty to Christ did not take precedence over all lesser loyalties. This is a lesson against procrastination by caring for one’s father till he dies. But the third is to look back once one is committed in loyalty to Christ to returning to lesser important loyalties.
Even though according to the Holy Scriptures in 1Peter 1:9 or Hebrews 10:39 Salvation of our souls is the ultimate purpose of our walk here on earth, yet this is impossible without becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ Himself.
In the Old Testament Scripture of Book of Numbers in it’s 18th chapter the 20th verse The Lord says to Aaron and his children the Levites and the priests that The Lord is their protion and their inheritance forever. And since in the New Testament book of 1 Peter chapter 2 verse 9 Apostle Peter calls us the New Teastament priests and if disciples, true Levites, then we hve to take the same attitude as a true priest where The Lord should be our true portion. Habakkuk 3:17-19 In the Old Testament Book of Habakkuk the ultimate reward of a true disciple is clearly demonstrated in these few verses.
