They tell me I need to repent. What do they really Mean by it?

Repentance is the key to all heavenly blessings and it sounds very harsh at times, yet it is a simple fact of turning from walking in the wrong direction toward God.
The basic term comes from changing from the mindset of the world to God’s intended life of the spirit for His elect. Repentance is a Godly gift and is motivated by love and not just fear.
It is a change of heart caused by God’s love poured out on men and it always has a huge fruit attached to it. It is to shape man’s eternity to receive God’s bet for him including eternal life with God.
This awesome move of God in the heart of man starts with true acknowledgement of sin and through it men are enlightened for seeing themselves as God sees them.
In true repentance the heart motivation is pure and a cry for mercy is attached to such an acknowledgement of sin.
True repentance is the key to heavenly blessings, as I mentioned earlier in it embodies acknowledgement of wrong doing and a true willingness to return to God’s intended place of righteous standing. Many compare themselves by others and their own man made standard of righteousness and do not see a need for repentance. This is their trap right here. The true and genuine repentance though it is a heavenly gift and a virtue, yet must accompany the standard of God’s righteousness, which is His word. Without looking at His word we will all look just as blameless as Satan himself.
Oops did you get it? Satan comparing himself to himself saw his own beauty and position and knowledge, and proclaimed himself equal to even God.
Our own standard of goodness would fool us since, the Bible in Jeremiah the 17th chapter says our own scale of judgment of righteousness will show us all very good since the heart is deceitful above all else.
True repentance makes us look not to our own standards, but to God’s and to admit our own lack of righteousness. The law of Moses was to point us to our need, and grace brings us to it’s fulfillment. Only in true admittance of our sins & shortcomings is when the grace to change is available. The Bible is full of stories of men and woman who in their hearts accepted their true condition and cried out to God for help. If I would compare myself to Hitler or a serial killer not only I would not feel a need for repentance, but I would see myself as an angel with two wings on my back too.
True repentance requires first a true revelation of sin in our hearts and it’s depravity , then eventually confession of such depravity to God and men will free us to turn in true repentance.
Why to God and then to men, since men at times are witnesses of our confession before their Creator.
True confession is made when men would admit their specific sin and not pointing fingers to others. The woman caught in adulatory was brought to Jesus for her specific act of braking the Mosaic Law, yet the blind Pharisees had equal or more to repent of in their private lives. This admittance caused their stones to be let dawn and helped them seeing their need leaving the seen.
Jesus has come to open the eyes of the spiritual blind. He said he who had no sin may he throw the first stone. Ofcource this does not give the opportunity for us to over look the corporate sin in the church. It is the attitude of our heart that is important before judging any sin and not the sinner. In the Body of the Lord too many are still saying what sin are you talking about I am born again and blood washed, by this they willingly or unwillingly forget the verse in 1 John that states otherwise, since the true repentance has heavenly sorrow not ignoring our state of constant dependence on Christ.
The genuine repentance has a heavenly heartfelt guilt and admittance of wrong, first towards heaven and then towards men.
The story of the prodigal son is a very good example. The father waiting until the heaven’s righteousness is revealed to the son. It was not him going after the prodigal it was the heaven’s cry in the heart of the prodigal. Many wait until they are hired back as a servant and say “ Now take me as a hired servant” but when they left they said give me what is mine. Until this mindset is not developed true and genuine repentance is not seen.
True repentance has no finger pointing and faultfinding in it, it is always ready to confess it’s own fault. It is very specific and it is never wage. Oh yes I am a sinner, yet never is ready to make his/her own fault known. Isaiah 29 and 30 are a very good examples of those who would not want to hear their sin or confronted by it even through the righteous men of God.
Yes it disguises it’s ugly face in ignorance.
True repentant always find’s it’s way home. There is always a second and a third and fourth and a fifth chance to those who would truly confess and admit their need to return home. Home to a prodigal is always their point of start and it can always bring fresh benefits with it.
The true and genuine repentance has Kingdom of heaven’s best intentions in mind for it’s candidates and it is always is full of joy. For all the angels and truly righteous men will celebrate it’s work. Truly it is not men who would cry repentance, but heavens who would breath it’s awesome fragrance in our hearts.
They tell me to repent. What does it really mean to me?
“How true this sentence is”. Men telling us to repent has no real value to sin stricken hearts of man, but when the heaven through life circumstances call’s one to turn, then it really brings it’s best and well intended return.
It even revives the prodigals serving at home.
In times of genuine repentance men like Zacchaeus climbing above, notice their true state of lowly position and are willing to invite Jesus in their home to do one thing and that to not only confess their need for Christ, but their turning away from their sin in genuine act of repentance, which was the fourfold paying back of their wicked acts of sinful unrighteousness.
Today many have a lip service of their shortcomings and sin, yet no acts of true repentance is seen by them and that makes us understand that it is a mere act of lip service with no conviction of the heart.
True repentance has Godly sorrow by demonstration of physical acts of redemptive re- compensation for the wrong done to God and men.
The true U-Turn brings God renewed blessings in God’s peoples lives and set’s the captive truly free, where the hypocritical lip service bring more bondage unto death.
Genuine repentance in turning from our sin and turning to God brings freedom indescribable and trusting Jesus for making things right builds our hope and faith in Him.
We are in the very last days and the Lord is about to judge the world for it’s denial of His righteousness, but to us there is a heavenly call to repentance and Joel chapter 2 verses 12 to 17 describes it very well and we are to finish in declaring it’s truth by reading it now and praying it’s righteousness upon us and the entire body of our Lord the Church of the First born.
May this cry from heaven bring us the refreshing newness of the final revival, first in our mind’s and hearts and then in our Churches and the land where we occupy till He come to take us Home.
May God truly bless all of you. And may the Lord grant us this final petition being ignited by His righteous Spirit of Holiness.
God bless
