The Overcomers

The Bible speaks of a word very important to all and that is to be an over comer in Christ. What does it mean and why is it mentioned so often in God’s word.
Paul in 1 Cor. 15:31 speak a truth in his own journey of faith and that is the necessity of death to his own flesh daily. Paul realizes that there is a daily death that needs to be accruing in us in order to walk pleasing to the one who called us to follow His steps. The word to overcome means to have victory over or to conquer. In order to overcome something there first needs to be a situation or an obstacle or an offense or even a trial or persecution to gain victory over.
From the Old Testament story of King David we clearly see how God is making him an over comer throughout his journey of faith. King David’s life is an amazing story of one man’s multi trials and God’s grace making him an over comer time after time. King David’s very first trial with King Saul was a character building experience for God’s anointed and though many time God gave King Saul in David’s hands he was able to overcome his own offenses and allowed the righteous judge to exercise His divine justices by sparing his enemies physical life and not even leave a scare on his enemies reputation. Overcoming character assassination was what made King David a man after God’s own heart.
In Isaiah 42:18 through 21 prophet Isaiah says “ Hear, you deaf and look, you blind that you may see……”
One of the most amazing overcoming situations in King David’s life was his righteous dealings with his own son’s rebellious actions, Absalom. This is as dramatic as Joseph’s forgiving spirit towards his own brothers. Through my personal experience with the Lord and biblical prove I personally believe The Lord empowers His anointed with unfathemable measures of grace and divine revelation to overcome massive testing periods. In the last book of the New Testament (The Revelation of Jesus Christ) or the (Apokalypsis or the Unveiling) the Lord Jesus through His beloved Apostle John speaks about overcoming many times, like in chapter 2 verses 7,11, 17,26, and chapter 3 verses 5, 21. However the most wonderful thing is when we learn about how this overcoming is done, and that is in Rev. 12:11.
