The Journey from the well to the Vine

The story of John chapter 4 is a perfect story of God predestined love and deep compassion for the lost. In this story we clearly see the heart of Christ in stopping to do His father’s will.
The meeting is taken place on Jacob’s well and that at the hottest hour of the day.
The Bible says it was about the sixth hour, meaning 12:00 noon. A time when the thirst of many will be in its highest form at this hour. Oh that He knows when our real thirst is at its highest. The picture is of a gracious God who goes where it is needed to any distance to quench the thirst of all who are called according to the election of grace, even to a Samaritan. A nation mixed with gentiles brought back from the Babylonian captivity.
This is the extension of His love and obedience to His Father’s will. Within the heat of their conversation the woman understands her encounter with Christ and in verse 28 of John’s gospel the 4th chapter we read….
“The woman then left her water pot, went her way into the city….” This was magnified in my spirit this morning. She came with a water pot made out of clay to pull water in the heat of the day, yet she ended up leaving without her only vessel to go back into the city to give the good news of her spiritual thirst being satisfied at the well.
She left and empty water pot at the well. I felt the Spirit of God telling me many will come with a high thirst in these final days to leave their earthen vessels behind at the wells of their own choosing to receive the “Mayim Khayim” of His eternal satisfaction.
Many are thirsty today and holding on to their own jars of clay not knowing where to go.
The Lord is saying in these final days the water I will give to my own will cause them to leave their water pots behind at the wells. Many are coming back to the same ordinary source of temporary satisfactions of this empty life and return back for more. But the time has come that many empty pots will be seen on many earthen wells. Since Jesus Himself is there to satisfy their true thirst. He is coming to every man made well to break the mirage these dreamers see in the wilderness of their lives. Oh that if it was not for His compassionate love He would not take the time to rest from His journey at the proper well and at the proper time.
Many are going to experience this miraculous rendezvous in the ordinary places of their thirst, but are going to walk away with their jars left behind. This is the miracle of His love and care for a dying and desperate world. A world looking to find the answers of their continual thirst and lust for more.
The many jars left behind are to be emptied of their natural means of satisfaction, since even the jars are going to be a witness of their emptiness of purpose. You and I have many around us who walk around with their jars of clay and are seeking true satisfaction, but soon and very soon they are going to leave their jars at their own wells to drink the living waters of the Lord’s eternal satisfaction. I believe before the great and the dreadful day of The Lord we will see Him visit the elect at their great hour of thirst again. The sixth hour is hottest time of the day, and many are drawn to have their thirst quenched. It is from here that they will be grafted into the Vine and it is there that their lives will be healed, and restored unto eternal fruit fullness.
The heat of the day will only cause a broken or a separated branch to be dried up otherwise it will remain to live to its fullest.
This is Life that we abide in Him.
Jesus in John 15 said I Am the Vine and you are the branches. What a metaphorical and agricultural example. He also said His Father is the vinedresser and unless we abide in Him by no means we shall bear fruit. The Father is glorified through our fruit fullness and that every branch in Me Jesus said that does not bear fruit He cuts is away. But the branches that bear fruit He the Father prunes it to bear more fruit. These are some heavy words from a Papa that goes so much out of His way to meet us at the well of our eternal thirst. But here is the whole concept of this new found life on the Vine of God’s own glory Who is the Messiah Jesus Himself. This is the Life, which produces everlasting fruit into God’s likeness and glory. After being found by Him we are to live attached to Him. In John the 15th chapter Jesus says unless you abide in Me you can do nothing on your own.
A clear path for the righteous.
God in His love after finding us wants to completely graft us in His Love through adoptions as sons, yet many of us prefer to live still away from the only source of spiritual survival. The branches are a part of the life giving trunk that saps its entire life source from the roots. Every foreign or useless additional growth must be cut off for the life of the tree to be sustained throughout the life of the plant. Many times extras are grown on the vine and they must be cut off from the tree so the life of the tree and all its branches will be fully preserved unto complete fruitfulness. Much time the manure is needed so the tree will be strengthened from the roots, but a separate existance is not going to be ending in longevity at all. A branch though being green if separated and left alone on the grand will only live a short lived life and soon will be dried on its own.
Some of us live a few days life of independence from the Vine and feel and look green, but not knowing that the dry edges of our lives are already causing irritation on the people around us. Yes we seem ok outwardly, but are getting dry inwardly.
Then comes the pruning season, and the hand of the Heavenly Gardner is coming to prune what is to bear more fruit. Here is where the tears appear. We say Lord I thought I was doing well, and now what is this you have allowed in my life again. And the Lord says oh yes My own beloved it is so you will bear more fruit. After all did you not ask Me to make you more fruitful? Oh yes and it is the hands of your Vinedresser it is the Pops who is doing this to you and not the devil messing around with you. Oh now I understand. So it was to my advantage to see this part of me gone too? This friend deals treacherously with me too? Wow you are cutting away every foreign object, so that my life in you must remain? This is hard my Lord! Who can endure such a pruning? He says again, but I thought you wanted to be used of Me in My Kingdom?
And after all which resurrection you want to be in? The first resurrection or the final general resurrection?
As the tear falls of the pruned vine tree, so the tears of His elect wet their eyes when the Father’s hand is reaching to them for fruit bearing. This reminds me of our own front yard in Iran where every year my father would call a gardener and he would come and would sometimes cut all the branches leaving our beautiful tree so barren and naked. I would run to my dad and say dad now what; this year I would not have any grapes to eat? My father laughing would say no son on the contrary you will have more and better grapes to eat this year than the last, and I would say how? Isn’t this tree almost as naked as dead? And then why did this man cut even the green leaves and branches? What was wrong with them? And my pops would reply and say wait son wait. Sure enough that summer I would have a party with the neighbor’s kids in our house by the small swimming pool we once had.
Wow what a metaphor Jesus is using.
Some of us who try to better ourselves apart from the Lord don’t we see how we fail?
Oh I have to not get angry anymore and I will not speak harshly to my husband or wife anymore. But as we promise ourselves and others the very first thing in the morning we find ourselves failing why?
Because we are the green branch isolated for few days from the life source of God and is trying to produce fruit on our own and separated from the Life of God. And if this is not enough we are trying to change our family members by artificial means. We cannot do anything about our own fruit bearing without a daily communion with God and prayer and spending time reading and meditating on the word, but are asking the isolated branches to bear fruit. Do you see the problem? We are not daily connecting to the Vine in an abiding manner and then trying to squeeze fruit out of somebody else’s life.
When we need to stay connected to the Vine of God’s glory us barking on our neighbor’s tree.
We always ask God to work through us, when we do not allow God to work in us. Staying connected on the Vine would mean many times cutting away of things in our lives, attitudes and mindsets and ties with the worldly lusts. The purpose of our call is to be fruitful and to stay in His kingdom of Light, but how often we separate ourselves from the Life of God in Christ and run in our own efforts trying to produce works, which has no part in them anymore. Many of us have become Holy Ghost juniors trying to fix people and things in their lives, when the word says apart from Him we can do nothing. Once a week attendance in the Church is not going to cut it anymore folks. Life on this planet has become very hot. It is the sixth hour again. Are we willing to stop and hand on the Vine or would you like to be hand by the Vine dresser. He wants us to remain in Him as He has remained in His Father unto fruit bearing.
It is through such a life that our God is glorified. Let us come to be washed once again with the glorious waters of His Life. If we stand against this principal He will oppose us to our face, because to this He has called us that we go and bear much fruit. In our own effort and in separation from the Life of God, we cannot bear any good fruit at all.
Therefore if you see opposition to your efforts, know that it is Him fighting you and me, since He only wants to see His own life in us producing His best in us and not our own independent life from Him.
Therefore let us come to him that we may be healed and delivered unto good works in Him alone.
May God richly bless you in finding the secret of abiding in Him unto all fruit bearing.
God bless
