The coming of the new government

THE FEAST OF PENTECOST

From First fruits is Shavuot or Pentecost. God comes down to His covenant people in an earthshaking day of visitation.

The greatest visitation of God to His covenant people Israel after the appearance of His glory on Mount Sinai was the earthshaking pouring out of His promised Holy Spirit. This particular promise was a fulfillment of many Old Testament prophesies for the restoration of God’s people to their former promises. In this outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was giving His own people the latter rain promised in Joel’s prophecy. It was in this out pouring that His government was coming to them first.  The Israel of God was promised an everlasting kingdom and a promise to rule and regin along  side of their Messiah, yet to their utter amazement before the physical government could ever be trusted to them they needed to receive its down payment in the form of the Spirit of that coming government in their hearts.

The coming of the new government meant the necessity for change in its citizens.

In receiving the promise from God the Father the recipients of this promise were none but those whom the promise was made. Many of us ignorantly forget that the promise was not made to none but the Jews. Just as when Simeon being led by the Spirit went into the temple and seeing the baby Jesus in the arms of his parents said “Lord now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all people, A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32 This was confirming that this sudden out powering of the Holy Spirit too, just like the birth of the Messiah was nothing, but the answer form God the Father to His own inheritance , to His own covenant people. Many confuse this outpouring with different human reasoning’s, yet although the gentiles were added to this promise later on, but originally this was God’s own promise  to His treasured possession the Israel of God , therefore in answer to the question that Who was God speaking to on the day of Pentecost? We could answer in the following manner

In v. 5 the word says through Peter’s address to the “devout Jews”. v. 10 “Jews & proselytes”, v. 14 “Men of Judea and all who live in Jerusalem”, v. 22 “Israelites”, v. 29 “fellow Israelites”, v. 36 “The entire house of Israel”, v. 39 “for you and your children, and all who are far away.“ Six times God makes it clear that He was speaking to Israel, the Jews, on the day of Pentecost, both the Jews who were living in Judea and all the Jews who were “far away,” living among the Gentiles. This further proves the roots and foundations of the promises of God to His own covenant people. Some say this was the seal of their betrothal to Him for their adoption.  Yet others say this was the birth of the Church, yet others are still confused.

To the crowd on Pentecost who were confused, thought the apostles were drunk, so how did Peter explain what was happening? In (see v. 6-21) Peter tells them that what was happening was prophesied by the prophet Joel more than 1000 years before (v.16). Pentecost was part of God’s prophesied plan for the nation of Israel. Which means that Pentecost was not part of God’s “Mystery. “ Paul writes that the church which is His body is a “great mystery” (Eph 5:32), part of God’s mystery program“which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God” (Eph 3:9). This church, “the Body of Christ” did not begin on the day of Pentecost; it was still hidden in God. One plan (God’s plans for Israel, including the day of Pentecost) was made known in the Old Testament prophecies–Joel, etc. The other plan (the “Mystery”–God’s program of grace today) was kept hidden in God until it was revealed to the apostle Paul by the Lord Jesus Himself.

This is why this day is to serve more than just a  day of Church celebrating its inception, since the body of the Messiah was formed from the beginning and  existed in the heart and the mind of God, yet it was manifested to the natural realm on this day by the indwelling of His government in the hearts of the Jews first and then the goyim. Here is where the mystery begins to unfold. God’s Kingdom which is an invisible kingdom began to manifest in the physical realm first by being poured out in the hearts of its recipients. Although to the first group it was not a an instant good news, since as Peter stood to talk in Acts 2 he accused the Jews to have crucified their own promised Messiah. It was by this bold proclamation of the truth that the first 5000 were cut to their heart and did accept their guilt and in repentance they were baptized and were added to the Church, which was the manifest new government of God on the earth, till the millennial physical kingdom age would come.

Another reason that this day is a fulfillment of the promise of the Father to the Jew’s is that, on this day of the out powering of God’s Spirit and government on His people they were celebrating the Jewish feast of the “Shavuot” or the “first fruits”. Which is in the beginning of summer and in the Hebrew month of Nisan, which represents the first fruit of all things belonging to Him? Well in this we see that in His first coming Jesus sent the first fruit of His coming kingdom in the hearts of His people on this particular season. Therefore in His second coming the season could be in the time of the celebration of the Autumn feast like the “Rosh Hashanah”or the feast of the “Trumpets” , which is in the Jewish month of  “Sivan” where all three feasts of “The Trumpets”, “Atonement” , and “ Tabernacles” are celebrated. The Time of “The Final Harvest”.

You see Jesus always confronted the Jewish hypocritical leaders as being blind guides. Why? Because they were the ones guiding the nation of Israel spiritually, yet they did not understood neither one of the scriptures in their apocalyptic sense. They missed to recognize Him as the promised Messiah. They neglected to receive Him in their midst, and also refused to see in Him the identity of the Father’s character. He also told them you should know the time and the seasons, yet they continually in rebellion and in stubbornness of their hearts missed them all. To the group gathered on the mountain of His accretion He said for the time of the physical kingdom to come you need not to worry, the Father knows that time, but you tarry in Jerusalem for the promise. Yet later on Apostle Paul in His letter to the Thessalonian Church speaks about that day in a different way. He says we should not be unaware of its timing or its spiritual season.

By having the indwelling Spirit of God we need to be in direct communion with Him, and this day according to the word of God should not come as a surprise to us. Yes of  the exact day or the hour no one is aware of, even as the scripture says, Jesus when He was on earth did not know, yet the seasons both physical and spiritual need to be discerned by us. Ignorance of such truth only is a sign of irreverence to the purposes of our call in Him. The entire scriptures with the illuminating power of the Holy Spirit should be enough to have us prepare for this day. The prophecies of the books of Daniel, Joel chapter 2 and Revelations could serve as search light in such divine truth.

These are the coming fruits of the first fruit poured out on us since almost two thousand years ago.

Since this coming kingdom would bring the realities of heaven and the earth together in one place, therefore all the forces of evil of this age need to bow low to it. Here is why I believe on that day the promised Holy Spirit was poured out in power and in the form of tongues, since through this gift the deep thing of the supernatural realm was going to be revealed and conquered by its recipients. Also I believe it was poured out in such a way that the 120 were able to speak in a known tongue, since I trust it did represent God’s Kingdom coming to all nations where the Jews were disbursed. Yet it also represented the new heavenly government coming to all the nations of the world as the prophetic fulfillment of the Rock that was cut out of heaven & sent to destroy the kingdoms of the earth. It also represents the indwelling of the boldness of the new kingdom citizens that they would have in righteousness. It was an all inclusive down payment of the age to come I believe.

At last Pentecost is the 50^th day after the final sacrifice which brought the atonement of all sin, which did manifest itself in the power of the new government to come. Israel of that day and us now are both the participants of this new age to come. Where rightousness will rule and the heavenly invisible kingdom of God would be lived out right here on earth. An age where the author of the book of Hebrews says we who have tasted The heavenly gifts and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit and have tasted the good word  of God  and the powers of the age to come would one day enter in to inherit,  if we would not draw away in unbeleif.

This is the true meaning of what the Church wrongfully have misunderstood for a while.  To our shame unfortunately in some circles this truth through ignorant misunderstandings has been interpreted in very drastic ways.
