The Bible introduces Jesus Christ of Nazareth as the Wisdom of God

1

Many people in this side of heaven search for wisdom and some proclaim that they do posses this most valuable gift of all. However the scripture introduces Christ the Messiah of Israel as the Wisdom of God. A foolishness to the perishing, but the greatest of all gifts to the redeemed.

The Bible declares that God’s measure of justice and  the level o His righteousness is matchless. This was all manifested in Christ.
The scripture also declares that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

What does all this mean to us?

In 1st chapter of 1st Corinthians Paul presents this argument in a very incredible way. He says it in this way…

“ For since, in the wisdom of God the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of

Of the message preached to save those who believe.

For the Jews request a  sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

But we preach Christ  crucified  to the Jew’s  a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jew s and Greek Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because thefoolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.                              ( 1Corinth. 1:24 )

Here is the verse calling Jesus Christ of Nazareth the wisdom of God.

Why His Wisdom, since any other type of wisdom is earthly sensual and demonic as James says. All other kind of wisdom‘s are the produce of the tree of Knowledge of Good and evil. The result of partaking of the tree that was banded by God in the garden of Eden.

The human wisdom is the fruit of the forbidden tree, which represents the human fallen independent spirit’s measurement of right and wrong. However the heavenly wisdom is totally contrary to it. The heavenly wisdom of God’s justice does not trust on its own judgment, but God’s righteous decree of things. This is the true and pure wisdom and its fruit is peaceable and completely pure. This Kind ofwisdom starts with God and is given to those who possess the fear of the Lord. James says it is not earthly and sensual or demonic.

The beginning of this heavenly wisdom comes from a heart that has a reverential fear of the Lord. It does not operate independent from God. Its basis is grounded in fearing Him and in relying on God’s measure of the right and wrong not our own. It does not question God’s word and do not lean on human reasoning. It has embraced in itself a higher standard of judgment.

This heavenly wisdom or Christ is revealed to men when they are at the end of themselves and not any sooner. Until we do not kneel before Him in confessing our utter helplessness this heavenly wisdom is not revealed to His elect. Unless we see our selves helpless and hopeless we are not a good candidate to acknowledge Christ Who is God’s Wisdom.

The problem is many lean on their own understanding and that is why the fear of the Lord is not in their hearts. Like Eve they do not trust God in His word and allow themselves to question God’s spoken words in a form of a command.

This is why God is not calling Himself their God, since their measure of right and wrong is being decided by their own sensual reasoning.

This is also why the Lord can not become their light in this dark world. They like to light their own lights in this world.

However Paul once again in 1st Corinth. 1:18 & 19 says it in this way….

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written “ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

And in the verse 20, Paul says it again… “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Now this is the proven fact that the human or the earthly wisdom is contrary to Heavenly.  Actually the Bible says it is in enmity with God.

Why?  Because the heavenly wisdom is requiring a complete dependence on God and the earthlywisdom operates outside of God’s standards of righteousness.

Here is the catch we come to the knowledge of the Savior upon relinquishing all ties with our human reasoning, but soon after we are still trying to live under our old standard of facts about our own rights and wrong. This is where we find ourselves in a bigger predicament than when we were not enlightened in regards to the truth. Our own understanding or own human wisdom can not compete with God’s, since it is forbidden from the access of the eternal truth of the  tree of life, which is the heavenly wisdom of God. Wow did you get it? After having been enlightened with the truth we must stop living in it dependent upon our own human understanding of things. Our human mind with its fallen status can not comprehend the mind of Christ.

Here is the true battlefield.

Having started by renouncing our old nature with its passions and lusts, now once again are entangled in them by going back to trusting our own carnal minds. What a battle?

Once again now Christ Who is The Wisdom of God needs to govern our affairs. We can not live according to the flesh ( Meaning living by our human understanding ), because it is contrary to the wisdomof God.

Here is why in Matthew chapter 11 when Jesus was trying to defend John’s ministry   He said what He said about Himself and the wisdom that comes from our mother in heaven who the Bible says is the Jerusalem above that gives us the knowledge of the Messiah.

In verses 19 and 20 of Matthew 11 Jesus said “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. The Son of Man came waiting and drinking and they say “Look a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! But Wisdom is justified by Her Children”.

This our greatest challenge while on earth.

In the path of righteousness there is peace.

( Proverb 12:28 ) this is what proverbs says, why such a declaration of peace? Since the righteous would eventually chose God’s Wisdom over their own even to live the Christian life. It is not enough to choose His Wisdom for salvation, but to walk in it.

Another place the word of God says “ Do not lean on your own understanding but in everything acknowledge God and He shall make your paths straight.” ( Prov. 3:5) This means to die to the flesh or to the carnal mind, which draws its strength from the old nature or the human wisdom. This frame of mind has cut itself  from the life of God which is found in faith on Him alone.

Faith is the enemy of human wisdom, since human wisdom is based on physical facts and reasoning’s, which is introduced through flesh.

This why many  of us in the body of Christ do not experience true rest with peace.

We have entered this race through faith and that is denying our own human wisdom for God’s unfathomable one , but if want to run this race again relaying on our human wisdom the Bible says we shall die again.

( Romans 8:13)  the death that reigned on Adam will reign over us again. Since faith has its inception from heaven and contradicts human ways of understanding and our carnal judgment of situations. It is very much like coming to a new country, yet wanting to live according to the rules of the old .

Just as if an American can not live in Iran the way he/she lived in the States. As simple as this. That is why we are forbidden to remain in this race of faith with our own human understanding.

It will hinder our life in God.

It is actually a rebellious  act towards God, and it is an offence to His cross, which is the fruit of its higher wisdom.

Here is where Isaiah the prophet proclaims the Lord’s invitation In Isaiah 55 which says….

“ Ho! Everyone who thirsts come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your ear delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to MeHear and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you the true mercies of David.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts no, nor are your ways My ways says the Lord.
