Spirit controlled life

12

Having been in a fallen world through the original sin God’s intended purposes are still continuing in this that His special treasured people will establish His rule on the earth in fruit bearing. As in the book of Genesis when the Lord placed man in Eden to subdue it by His innocence in fruit bearing, so was the purpose of God in establishing His eternal government on earth through Israel. Israel being the chosen people of God represents the fig tree which is one of the many figurative names she is known to God. In the first appearance of the Messiah of Israel God the Father in restoring His own people to their intended purpose, which was their spiritual fruitfulness, saw that they failed as a whole nation.  Then the Lord Jesus Christ who was the faithful gardener, asked the Father after three yours of ministry to give them one more chance. This chance was the coming of the promised Holy Spirit in & upon them.

The Spirit would enable them in producing God’s intended fruitfulness if they would remain in Him. This promise would make Israel the priesthood they were called to be, but at the end of the fourth year the national Israel as a nation failed again, so that you and I could be grafted in to the Vine who is Christ Jesus our Lord. In this restorative attempt of the heavenly Father He send His only begotten Son to reform the national Israel, yet as I earlier said the purposes of God was delayed by engrafting in the gentile world. Paul in Romans chapters 9 through 11 describes this engrafting the best. He also calls Israel the cultivated olive tree, beside its reference to her as the fig tree. They are cultivated since; God the Father had done for them His best. In Isaiah chapter5 prophet Isaiah describes them as the Vineyard of His Well-beloved.  The prophet Isaiah in this prophetic song describes God’s disappointment with His Beloved’s own

Vineyard, which are Israel and Judah.

The prophet sings this song

Isaiah 5:1-7

I will sing for the One I love a song about His vineyard: My Loved One had a vineyard on a fertile hillside. 2He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it, and cut out a winepress as well. Then He looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit. 3Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge between Me and My vineyard. 4What more could have been done for My vineyard than what I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad? 5Now I will tell you what I am going to do with My vineyard: I will take away its hedge and it will be destroyed. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled6I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briars and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it. 7The vineyard of the LORD Almighty is the house of Israel and the men of Judah are the garden of His delight. And He looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.

Here is what the prophet of God saw in God’s dealings with the nation of Israel and the people of Judah. The Lord was looking for good grapes, meaning obedient, holy, and witnessing people. That is why He cultivated them for fruit bearing purposes, yet they were found right the opposite giving wild grapes. The people of Israel and Judah produced bigotry, injustice, and idolatry instead of being a witness to the nations around them. That is why God removed His protection from them and the enemies of His people found access to come and to trample them down in their distress.

God’s intended purposes for Israel were all forsaken by their stiff-necked rebellion to walk in obedience of His command. As we spoke last Thursday night The Lord had restored the priesthood by pardoning the sin of Joshua the High Priest in removing the filth from His soiled garment, and thus rebuked the accusations of the accuser of the brethren. However now it was their lack of obedience after their restoration that would hinder their fruit bearing in kingdom matters. The irreverence developed by stubbornness of their hearts to God’s extended love and care for them resulted the Israel as a nation to stop bearing fruit, even after the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Israel in her disobedience to God became the target of their own abandonment by God. In Hosea’s account in chapter 1 verse 9 the Lord said “Call his name Lo-Ammi, for you are not My people and I will not be your God”. This indicated the end of

The relationship they had with God. The interesting thing again here is that even in Hosea’s prophecy in chapter one a progression of events is mentioned. God did not cut them off at once, He always gave them a plenty notice in progression. In three names He stepped away from them. First “Jezreel” active Judgment; “Lo-Ruhamah” passive tolerance, “Lo Ammi” no connection. This progressive cycle indicated God’s justice for His own in a divine righteousness. The author of the book of Hebrews says the Old Covenant is the shadow and tutors to us the New Covenant people. We too according to John’s gospel are called to fruit bearing too. In John chapter 14 and 15 the scripture tells us the same principal in a different format. In Galatians chapter 5 we are warned in regards to living an independent life from the Spirit of God Who is in us. The 15th chapter of gospel of John says now Jesus is the true Vine and we are His branches and if we refrain from abiding we too would be cut.

Yes in these allegorical examples the word is teaching us an old principal in a brand new way. Jesus always spoke in parables and the reason was that these parables were Jesus’ “weapons of warfare” against His detractors.  They were an effective means of communication in a hostile environment, and now, at the end of His ministry the air was thick with hostility. In all of this He still stood to proclaim the coming kingdom that would be taken by force by those who are the true subjects of this coming kingdom. He also said that the gates of Hell and Heidi’s itself cannot stand against this kingdom being built in the hearts of men to the end, yet He never said that it would be without a cost. In the book of Hebrews again its author speaks of the necessity of suffering & in remaining true and fruitful to the end. Folks the National Israel did fail in their purpose and was put aside as a nation to the end. The Church of Jesus Christ too has failed in many aspects in her

Call to fruitfulness. Israel being our example we need to heed the Lord’s warning lest we too become completely cut off in being found in barrenness. In ways the Church too has brought wild grapes and that is why her hedge too like Isaiah chapter 5 song’s is taken away  and the spiritual enemies of God have  been given access to the lives of the majority in the Church. However to all this the author of the book of Hebrews says the fruit of righteousness is cultivated by remaining faithful in times of divine chastening of which all  have become partakers of.

Especially in this final work of restoration we are in. This means as God chooses to deal with us through His indwelling Holy Spirit’s discipline we need to remain faithfully in Him looking heaven bound. Praying without ceasing for the heavens prospective on our lives and not to be easily shaken by His shakings in our lives, in the Church and in the world around us.

Having a heaven bound prospective means we need not to have or form our own human opinions about the things happening around us. We should stop murmuring and complaining in God’s dealings with us and those around us. Oh yes we need to get the prospective of heaven to remain faithful in these final hours. We do not want to be completely cut off, when God is only trying to take the dross out of us. I know it is very hard and even impossible by the strength of our flesh. That is exactly why a closer walk with the Lord in daily communion with the Holy Spirit is needed as the day is approaching. Yes a Holy Spirit controlled life is becoming the only answer in these final days. In a day an age where deception is at every corner we need to heed to the voice of the Spirit of God more than ever.

Yes a divine prospective in seeking humility and righteousness remains the only true alternative to the remnant elect.
