Recognizing God in all His many dimensions and characteristics is what can make us true followers of Him. A sermon heard from the pulpit or a scripture read from the Bible is a very good thing, but to have experienced God in our lives practically is what He really yearns for us to have. This is why the Creator of the Heavens and earth will do all in His power to make Himself known to His people in those practical ways. (Song of Songs 4:6) The Bible speaks about shadows in many facets and it speaks of their temporary state. What is a shadow? Shadow is the reflection of things void of its substance. A shadow also is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. Celebrated author, C.S. Lewis describes this world as a shadow in comparison to the spiritual realm. Meaning that the spiritual realm is greater reality than what our current experience is. The warmer wells or “The necessity of the revealed word” is manifested in the story that follows Christ’s resurrection two millenniums ago. In this great story we read Jesus appeared to the two walking to a village called Emmaus which was about seven miles away from Jerusalem. What is the definition of reputation. Reputation is the estimation in which one is held. This  could ideally mean character in public opinion, but it could also mean a well thought of image created in the world around us. This very positive word can seldom take a very inadequate meaning in the hearts and the minds of people. In this fallen world influenced by evil reputation can be a very confused understanding among men and women. At the Potiphar’s house is the title of our message today. This is not only a title, but the reality of many of our lives in faith. The Old Covenant scriptures tells us in Genesis chapter 39 that Joseph son of Jacob was sold to the Ishmaelites and  thus he was brought to Egypt and Potiphar the officer of Pharaoh  bought him as a slave. Later on few verses down we read that Joseph was shown great favor by the Lord in being a man whom even his master Potiphar had great respect. Soon Joseph became the overseer of all that this Egyptian officer had and he was in charge of his entire household and all his affairs. Reaching for the Higher ground One of the greatest topics that we need to pay more attention is the issue of our faith. What is faith according to the scriptures? In Hebrews 11:1 we read faith is “ The substance or conviction of things hoped for, and evidence of thing not yet seen”. But what does this verse even mean to us in a practical sense? Power of resurrected life Power of the resurrected life is hidden in the mystery of the invisible kingdom brought to us through His resurrection.
