Mystery of the Bride and The Bridegroom

br1

br1The Bible is the most misunderstood book in so many circles and therefore is most controversial topic of discussion among the unlearned. It is seldom preached as an epistle of love.

Yes it is never truly understood by a stranger. As with a private letter of a romance is only understood between the writer and the loved one so is the Bible.

Many can not understand the true language of the scripture because they are not either the true recipients of this love letter or they have not yet reach to a mature age to be addressed in the language of love.

Many who have not reached to an age to be asked for Marriage and they stay as babes in regards to this eternal betrothal have not understood it’s depth. In the Song of Songs chapter 8 the Shulamiths brothers speak of a little sister that they have who has no breasts and they say in verse 8 of chapter 8 the following words.

“ We have a little sister and she has no breasts, what shall we do for our sister in the day when she is spoken for?”

I see this scripture speaking in regards to the immature believers who have not developed a true understanding of their call, neither the purpose of their salvation. They walk through this wilderness of life with no real understanding of their journey in Christ. This has caused them not to see the purpose of their calling, and  by this the scriptures is to them as a mere book to either get them saved or give them their carnal yearning of their fleshly lives

These immature believers stay unfruitful in understanding of this invitation of love relationship extended to them by the Bridegroom, Who is yearning for their obedient response to His eternal call for marriage. They take this awesome letter  of love for anything but an invitation to enter into a romantic love affair. They take the rebukes as a harsh treatment of an angry God and the passionate pursuit of it’s mercies as means for temporal earthly satisfactions of this passing life this side of heaven.

They see the scripture in a totally different perspective. It is an amazing thing that an invitation for love and loyalty is taken as a written code from a strict  author called God Who is so far off in relating to fragile human beings. A cruel and a mean God waiting to strike us upon any act of disobedience.

This group have their own addenda in mind or see their invitation in a very derailed point of view. Some are allured through lust. In the other extreme some are so busy in serving that they have neglected to gaze at the beauty of the one they are serving. Their passion for the Bridegroom has replaced itself with their call to be the Bride. While the master is watching their inner beauty and had fallen in love with their God given provisions to be attractively radiant, they have wasted their beauty in serving. In all these the one neglected principal is the understanding of their invitation for the purpose of their being. When both these groups come to the scripture they miss the beauty of it’s extravagance in extending them an invitation for romance. They have both missed the understanding of the letter’s deep intention of carrying them into another realm of love and romance.

They both unfortunately have missed the principal of Biblical intent, which is a passionate love affair. To some the elegance of it’s language has been a frightening sentence of condemnation leading them to smell the pangs of death and Hades, but to the mystical Bride it is the fragrance of a romantic love affair leading into eternal union of  The Lambs Wedding Feast.

Wow I am sure some of you would say pastor what are you teaching us today, it is beyond our comprehension ? Well so it was for me for the longest time, but I think it is time to wake up from our slumbering state and tap into the mature state of our betrothal. Remember the 10 virgins in the gospel of Matthew’s 25th chapter? There were five who were not even ready to meet the Bridegroom, because in their hours of preparation they had missed the depth of the understanding of their call by seeing the Bible and it’s invitation of love in a complete different way.

They read the word with a distorted view.

They were like this little girl who wanted to be carried away to the other side by the mature, yet they neglected to want  to be matured on their own. In ignorance they thought they could be asked for by The Bridegroom while becoming a weight on the shoulders of the true Bride. These are Christians who want others to pray for them only, they want the ministers to study the word for them and they see the commandments of God for obedience as a burdensome task to carry them through. The Bible and the word is always a secondary thing in their lives and it’s demands a very unjust weight upon their shoulders.

They want to be carried in the wedding feast upon another man’s merits of faithful obedience through faith. They do not stop to take oil in an extra vessel in case of need.

These are the ones who see God as a harsh taskmaster and not a loving heavenly Father.

They might look beautiful and innocent through appropriation of justice, but never mature.

However the true Shulamitte (The Bride) is prepared by her free will act of obedience to theHoly Spirit, who is preparing Her to be spoken for at the proper time. Her beauty comes by a radiant surrender to the written word through grace by the Spirit’s guidance and it is to Her that is given an inner revelation of the scriptures to be read as a love letter. She sees the word of God as an invitation for purity of the soul and flesh in preparation for Her wedding day.

She walks ahead of the daughters of Jerusalem in a pursuit of a passionate love for her Beloved. She has stopped looking unto the immediate surrounding of Her difficulties in this passing life, but her eyes is in a radiant  gaze for Her Beloved’s eternal Kiss.

She has obeyed the scripture that says Kiss the Son, which means Kiss the word by seeking to obey it with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind lest you perish from the eternal purposes of your calling.

In the Book of Song of Songs, Solomon is mentioning three category of people besides the Bridegroom. The scripture speaks of the Shulamite and daughters of Jerusalem and the brothers of the Shulamitte. The story is amazing since in these different category of people only the Shulamite is called the Bride and the daughters of Jerusalem are amazed at Her passionate pursuit of the Bridegroom.

In the first chapter of the Song of Songs it is the Shulamite that admits her darkness, yet also receives her acceptance from the Beloved Bridegroom Jesus.

It is Her who admits that her mothers sons were angry at Her by making Her the keeper of the vineyards, but her own vineyard She did had not kept, yet she knows the confession of Her sins would raise Her Lovers compassinate Love even more to see Her Come through.

It was just not the same for the daughters of Jerusalem. Yes they could see The Shulamite’s passionate love, yet they stayed totally unaware.

You see eventually as queen Esther understood the purpose of her existance, the Bride of Christ too will come to true maturity. She would see the Bible as a direct letter addressed to Her written in passionate love affair predestined by Her Beloved. It is then that Her quest will be to obey all it’s marital requirements. Just as queen Esther received instructions from the eunuch who was assigned to her life for all purification and beautification, the Bride too will adhere to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in full obedience. Here is where the mystery of the Bride and the Bridegroom is revealed.

Today we beg some like Apostles did to come into to His courts, but in that day many will try to enter but the door would be shut. They will cry out open to us, the Lord will say depart from Me you workers of Iniquity or the Lawless ones.

This is what many have missed.

The  Addressee of the Bible is The Bride.

You know this is the mystery, that many would not  see or are slow to understand that the scriptures  are an invitation and love letter both for betrothal and romance.

If it is understood in it’s proper intended purposes then it would not leave us barren and unfruitful from it’s promises also.

It is then that it makes complete sense even the scriptures in Luke 22:18 that says “For I say to you. I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of God comes”

Why? Because  it is at the consumation of the age that the wedding Supper of Lamb will be celebrated fully with the Bride.

It is The Bride that will be given a white linen to wear. The rest would not have unfortunately understood the purpose of their call in responding in a bridal affection to follow the Bridegroom wherever He goes.

May we receive grace to respond to His wedding  invitation by a devotion that would arise His passion for a final eternal gaze.
