Looking to receive An inheritance Among all those who are sanctified

12

This topic is often neglected to be discussed among the circles of the believers today.

The world in its corruption always seeks to receive physical inheritances of their earthly parents, yet interestingly enough the word says there is a spiritual inheritance awaiting those who are sanctified or being sanctified.

Many in the body of Christ live in complete ignorance of such future hope in Christ. We live as though salvation is our highest goal alone. Yet the scripture has more to say to those who would go the extra mile in knowing their reward of obedience to God’s everlasting gospel of peace they received in believing in Him and all His promises.

Looking to receive an inheritance among all those who are sanctified, is an eternal quest that we need to develop through His Spirit.

Many come to Christ yet I believe not all stand taller than the rest in wanting to receive a firm inheritance among their brethren who are being sanctified through His grace.

As with many who are born into families are called children of those families we too who are born from the Jerusalem above, are the children of God. However as in the earthly families not all might receive an inheritance, or some lesser than the others, we have the same circumstances I believe in Christ too.

Although we are all sons of the Kingdom by grace and not our own efforts, yet our inheritance and our rewards would be defiantly varying in heaven. Since not all are seeking the truth in the same measure. Ofcource this should not serve as means of pride, yet further cause for humility in us.

This ofcource has a lot to do with the depth of the true understanding of the meaning of Calvary and our response to this eternal gift.  Paul in Acts chapter 20 is addressing the elders of the Ephesians’ Church in regards to the seriousness of the ministry committed to them by the Holy Spirit, and in doing so he reminded them that the whole counsel of God was preached to them before his intended departure from there.

This raised up a very serious warning among them in regards to men of corrupt character who would soon appear among them and would speak perverse things to draw away the disciples after themselves, and that how important it was for them to guard the flock that the Lord had purchased by His own priceless blood.

Paul being a true Apostle of Jesus Christ had a paternal caring heart for God’s flock and that was the fruit of his true understanding of the sacrifice of Calvary.

Unfortunately as you see from the inception of the Church age imposters were present in the assemblies of the saints. Therefore it was very serious to guard the preaching of the gospel and to warn the flock of such wolves among them.

It is not much less in our times. In our times it is even more dangerous than then, since the scriptures warns us that in the later days we would have an overflow of such people in our midst. The mass media and internet has given these imposters a broader stage for their operation and we need to be more cautious than ever before.

Preachers and teachers who only preach one side of the truth are flocking among us and to our shame many are standing in the sanctuaries of God who are nothing but strangers to God in sheep’s clothing. Heresies of many kinds are being preached by these false teachers and the way of the truth has been often blasphemed by them.

We therefore are left with a heavy load of responsibilities to keep watch at an hour like this. The believers in these last days more than ever need to walk in close and restored relationships with the Lord to recognize such men and women.

We need to wear spiritual lenses given to us by the Holy Spirit to be able to discern these spots and blemished in our midst. But the best avenue is to reach to God by prayer and petitions to give us open eyes to see and recognize them in the spirit.

Paul knowing very well about his own departure said to the Ephesian elders that he kept warning them day and night for three years, but now he had to leave them and depart from there, yet his hands were clean from their blood, since he had repeatedly warned them for the dangers to come. Church if there was no eminent danger awaiting them, then why was Paul so concerned for their well being?

Never the less Paul had to withdraw from them in person, yet his concern for them could not leave his heart, therefore in his final words to them I trust that he spoke of a great spiritual phenomenon.

In verse 32 of Acts 20 Apostle Paul said the following words. “So now brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified”

Here is the most amazing statement that proceeded out of the mouth of Christ’s Apostle before His departure, which is the principal subject of our discussion tonight.

To have an inheritance among the rest of the sanctified that would make our salvation even more fulfilling than when we began to walk with Him by faith. This mystery unveiled by His Holy Spirit edifies us even more to obey His truth with all diligence. Knowing that obeying the word of His grace can bring us a rich reward in His Kingdom to come among many others.

It isn’t any less amazing I believe that Apostle Paul after defending the gospel like an angel guarding its truth ends with thesecomforting words of encouragement. I believe the Apostle of Christ Jesus had a greater reliance on God’s word of grace being alive and sharper than any two edged sword than a mere reliance upon any man who were to guard the future of God’s Church.

After caring and warning the elders of the Church from the coming fallacies of men, he admits that only God and the grace that is upon His word are able to keep the remnant build up and encouraged to pursue their inheritance among many other brethren who might not  seek to obey God’s truth with all of their hearts.

This here tells me that the obedience to His revealed truth in His word will bring us an inheritance among many brethren. This inheritance is undefiled and reserved for us in heaven as Apostle Peter says.

Therefore as Ruth the Moabites remained in t Boaz’s filed for a full reward, we too need to be gleaning after His reapers even to go to His threshing floor. First for separation then for sacrifice and eventually for an eternal reward of heavenly sustenance to receive an inheritance among the sanctified.

Unfortunately now days it is very rare to hear Christians to speak about this portion of our faith in God. Almost all the sermons we hear speak about our salvation and our benefits here on earth.

There are very few who are awakened to the greater reality of Heaven and our eternal inheritance with Christ there. Paul the apostlehad a very real concern about this. He called the end of his life a finished race of faith and an expectancy of a reward from Christ. He said I have fought the good fight of faith, and I have finished the race and in it all I have kept my faith, now there remains a crown for me that on that day Christ will give me.

He truly believed in keeping an unsoiled wedding garment for the great supper of the Lamb. Paul was a man who saw the heavenly warfare as the means to win an eternal reward. He fought according to the spiritual laws of heaven that was revealed to him through illumination of the word of God’s grace by the help of the Lord God Himself. He understood more than many mere followers of Christ that obeying the revealed word of God (Rehma) would soon encourage him to finish his race set before him by God.

He understood that obeying the truth will earn him an inheritance with God that is undefiled in its eternal weight of God’s glory.

This was the revelation that made him commend the Church to God and His word of His grace. The best remedy for the wounds and attacks suffered from Satan and the flesh.

May this truth unveiled by His Spirit to us become our point of pursuit in the coming days.     Amen?
