I will ransom them from the power of grave and redeem them from death. (Hosea 13:14 )

1

An awesome declaration of love for a backslidden nation of His choice.

The unfathomable is this heavenly love brought to us through Christ the Messiah. The redeemed will someday fully understand this grace brought to them at the cost they cannot understand here and now. The greatest truth in the Bible could reveal itself through this verse, which has brought us hope from the most horrifying reality of our natural existance.

The precious Holy Spirit prophesying through prophet Hosea speaks this spiritual truth to us and Paul the Apostle having received revelation through God has appropriated these words in 1 Corinthians 15:51. The very foundation of our faith and the means of our salvation and the evidence of His righteousness.
This is the verdict pronounced upon eternal death.

“ I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.

O Death, I will be your plagues!
O Grave, I will be your destruction!
Pity is hidden from My eye”. ( Hosea 13:14)

Here is a verse that opens up many deep revelations about the truth of Hell and grave or ( Sheh-oal).

Many have to stop here and think deep in regards to an unseen enemy called Death.

The Lord’s eyes see how a real, but fierce enemy is fighting with men through the fall, and it is here that we need to praise our God for His eternal love towards men like us.

Ransom means to steal away something in hopes of sparing it. But to redeem means to bring back and made good again.

Here the Lord though His prophet says I the Lord will save My own from the power of the grave and I will restore them from their sentence of death.
Death is an abode. A created place of spiritual decay. A direct sentence for sin. These are all spiritual realities. Since first every thing took place in the supernatural and in the spirit realm death too is a spiritual reality identified in the book of revelation by the pale horse

( Rev. 6:8). This spiritual reality taking a physical form after Adam’s fall represented itself in both dimensions, yet in its original form it happens first in the spirit realm. I want to repeat myself again, sin which is the instigator of death leads all men into this supernatural abode called death.

Prophet Hosea through divine insight as a true Seer saw this spiritual phenomenon, therefore He was given supernatural insight to see the real enemy and was allowed to pronounce judgment over man’s greatest enemy.

Prophet Hosea representing God’s compassionate love for a harlot bride was the best candidate by whom the Lord spoke His sentence on this eternal enemy called death.

Death
The Pale Horse

The prophet in the vision’s of God saw the pronouncement of God’s vengeance on these eternal enemies of God’s elect. Therefore he wrote what he saw the Lord said in this matter. “ I will redeem them from death” That means all man’s efforts to redeem himself is but vanity. Again looking at God’s fury at these cruel enemies of His own people, he saw the Lord speak more against them. He said that the Lord says “ O Death, meaning God is directly speaking to this enemy face to face ( By the future resurrection power of Christ atoning death), I will be your plagues.” Wow what a direst vengeance “ I meaning the Lord will be its plagues. Pay attention please the word is in plural form Halleluiah”. Meaning as Death in itself carries plagues of many kind, so the Lord will become their plagues destroying their effect on the redeemed. My eyes can not stop from tears, to see a love like this.
Some in ignorance of sin are blinded to the truth of Death and its seriousness. We Christians too many times are like sisters of Lazarus who could not grasp the reality of this real and living enemy called death. They like us were thinking of a distant event in the future where they would have victory over sheol or ( Grave) and the abode of death. However our Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah said “ I Am the Resurrection and Life. Whoever believes in Me even if he dies he shall live and those who live shall never die.” He the Messiah was quoting Hosea 13: 14 in Himself. Here is where Apostle Paul and many others were given insight to the book of Hosea’s true identity of the Bridegroom and His unfailing love for His own backsliding bride. They all had insight into the real deal that was taking place in the heavenlies. A hard spiritual reality closed up from many physical eyesight’s. Apostle John testifies in the book of Revelations of Jesus Christ about Death and its final defeat.
Physical decay of the Death
Fear and abiding menace of death lifted
As we read Hosea’s obedience in marrying Gomer and her adulterous affairs and the children she begat from all her adulteries, our heart brakes for this man of God. However looking deeper into the spiritual significance of this great story we can find out the heart of God towards Israel after the flesh and now us as His spiritual Israel who are grafted onto His vine. As God sees, we need to see also. Yes I wish we would. He sees beyond the natural and He loves and fights for us beyond the natural. The next word uttered by prophet Hosea is the ultimate proof of His love and His supernatural ability to fight against His own enemies. The enemy of the bride is the enemy of the bridegroom.
This is what the Lord pronounces against this enemy of our soul “ O Grave, I will be your destruction ! Pity is hidden from My eyes” . Pity is hidden from His eyes in this battle Church. Halleluiah
Since we know that all of our affairs first take place in the heavenlies ( Eph. 6) then we know that “Fear” is a spiritual enemy working against us from that supernatural realm. The scripture teaches us that many of our bondages take place in the spiritual places first, thus this explains the bondage of Adam’s race to the power of death and beneath it hides the fear of it. Here The Lord says through prophet Hosea that “ I will be your destruction, meaning the power by which mankind was under bondage of fear, and in His adamant vengeance He the Lord will not have pity on destroying death with its power of fear.
This is why the author of the book of Hebrews I believe says the following in Hebrews 2:14 & 15
“ Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of the flesh and blood, he Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil. And release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Here is the greatest evidence of God’s eternal love on behalf of fallen man. As the author of Hebrews gave us a great revelation of the proof of our salvation, we see that before we were truly saved we were in a spiritual bondage of fear of death, but through obedient trust in Christ’s atoning work for us and His resurrection from among the dead we are released from the lifetime bondage of this enemy called death and all its plagues, which one of them is the chains of the fear of death. That is why I believe Apostle John also says in his letter that by obeying and trusting in Christ Jesus’s resurrection we have passed from death to life.
What an awesome promise of Christ’s victory on our behalf. An unattainable merit by fallen men, only a divine unmerited favor from the Creator of all things. Something to be celebrated by the Bride and her friends in all generations.
This is the foundation of our faith. A true hope for all who love the truth. Not only in the age to come, but right now while heaven is getting ready to send the rider of the true white horse mentioned in Rev.19:11. The One about Whom Jacob before he passed on prophesied, that the Shiloh will come from the tribe of Judah and Honor belongs to Him. He is the One to Whom belong the praise and obedience of all nations. He is the One Who has His robe dipped in the blood of grapes. To Him belongs honor and glory and judgment has been given to Him to rule and reign with the rode of iron.
It is the King of Kings and the Lord of lords and to Him honor of royalty will be given. This the same Bridegroom Who loves the true bride like no one else. His name is called The Word of God. To Him I bow dawn my knees as my Lord and my Redeemer.
