God’s Supreme Revelation

11

Revelation of  the deity of The Messiah Yeshua  ( Jesus the Christ )is the greatest revelation any man can receive during their pilgrimage in life.

This supreme revelation of God about His anointed Savior stands as the most unshakable ground of any believers entire journey this side of heaven. Paul in instructing the young pastor Timothy places a great emphasis on this eternal truth by having him not to turn from the doctrine he first came to believe in. ( 1 Timothy 4:14-16).

The Author of the book of Hebrews in the first few chapters of his letter expands on this truth like no one else I believe. The Lord totally breaks every doubt in the hearts of those  who would dare question the identity  of this Christ.

Many have believed in Jesus, yet have not known the depth of His personhood and have not completely understood His divinity and humanity a the same time. Today I would like to expand on this eternal truth a little more.

By the help of the precious Holy Spirit and the divine word of truth let us recognize theOne we proclaim our Lord and Savior.

Let us study His divinity first.

“Jesus as the Son of the Living God and the third person of Godhead.”

In the 1st chapter of the book of Hebrews verse 1 to 3 the author of this epistle says.

Jesus is the Son of God the only begotten and that no angel ever received such honor to be called God’s Son and that He also is a creator, since all things were created by Him and for this reason He is the heir of all things. He also says that Jesus the Messiah is the brightness of God’s glory and express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power. A Great evidence of His divinity.

In following verses the Author of the letter of Hebrews says to the Jewish believers of his time that Jesus also is to receive worship even from the angels. This is another reason why He is God and above all created beings, including angels. In verse 8 we read that God gave His Son a throne  and He Himself meaning God the Father called Him God by saying “Your throne , O God is forever and A scepter of rightousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom” Then He also is a King. This portion of the scripture explains the essence of His kingdom too, since it says it in this way. “ A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God Your God has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” ( Heb. 1:8-9 )

These are all scriptural clear evidences of Messiah’s divinity and in verses 10 through 12 they are also repeated.

The entire chapter one of the letter to the Hebrew believers of the first century deals with Christ’s divinity, why?,  because it was the hardest question in a Jewish believers mind.

Christ divinity was questioned by Pilot and the good confession that Paul talks about in 1st Timothy 6:13 is this very fact of Christ Yeshua’s divine being. This was the irritating message that angered the Sanhedrin when Jesus proclaimed before Caiaphas the Jewish high priest. This same truth confessed by the first martyr of Christianity Steven caused his stoning. These were enough reasons for the Author of the Hebrews to nail this truth in the early church believers minds and hearts.

The Greek philosophers of Paul’s time also challenged this truth since to them matter or the flesh was sinful, therefore it was considered evil and in their humanistic mind’s the doctrine of Christ’s divinity remained an irreconcilable  mystical challenge.

Why is this truth about Jesus Christ so important for a believer? What does His divinity,( meaning Him being God  )so important that the carnal mind rejects it? And why is Satan so much against this truth? Look at the cults like the so-called witnesses of Jehovah who ignore Christ as God ? What is this mystery behind Him calling Himself God? This offended the Jew’s of His day who rejected Him as their Messiah? And why is it important for us to recognize this truth about Him today? Will this change anything in us as believers in Him? These are all good questions we need to be equipped with answers to them. If Christ Jesus was and is not God does that offer a threat to my salvation? Look at chapter 2 of the letter to the Hebrews. This chapter starts with this warning.  In verse one the writer says give more earnest heed in the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Wow in what that we heard? In trusting Him being God and Divine,

Since if He is not God he could not save us.

It was and is His divinity that has brought us salvation from sin and death back to a relationship with God and it is Him being God that could reconcile us back to the relationship lost in Eden. The Lord had spoken about this in the psalms and many other old covenant scriptures, but the Israel of God remained blinded to all this scriptures. Just as Jesus had to unveil this truth to the two traveling to the village called Emmaus. In John the 14th to 17th chapters Apostle John completely described this awesome truth in exposing the word’s of  Jesus about His deity and His relationship to the two other persons of the trinity.

Without this wonderful glorious revelation of Messiah’s  deity we are left with a weak and powerless gospel that is no gospel at all.

If Jesus Christ the Messiah of Israel was not God then we are hopeless this side of heaven to be reconciled back to the divine nature of God by which we carried His Image and Likeness at the inception of the creation of man in the garden of Eden. Ignoring Christ Divinity is a demonic fallacy.

Again why is the author of the book of Hebrews teach about the dangers of drifting away by ignoring this major spiritual fact? Christ’s deity has been one of the most incredible truths about our Saviors being. Without His deity we are left helpless and the Hope of ever being reconciled to God becomes just a dream.

What was wrong with Jewish so called believer’s in Hashem or Adoni Elohim described in John chapter 8? Wasn’t that the fact that they did not acknowledge Yeshua as Who He was, especially when He said Abraham saw my days? Or when He said before Abraham was I Am what happened to this so called believers? Later on in the following chapters of the Hebrews the Author of this letter  is speaking about an Old Covenant appearance of this prince of Peace in the form of Melchizedek who was a type of Christ who had no beginning and no end why?  All these illustrations to prove what point? Why is he also writing about the order of heavenly tabernacle and its eternal priesthood?

All of this so that we would not be barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of our God, whom we profess to be worshipping. If as the cult of  Mormons believe that Jesus is the Michael the Archangel, then why in the book of the Revelations Apostle Paul is forbidden to worship the angel who was the  messenger of the Lord? But here in Hebrews God is commanding angels and all to worship Christ? You see then the danger to drift away from the doctrine of Christ has always been there, and it can sting any of us who lack true Biblical Knowledge of their Creator and Lord.

What about the deception of the past 1900 hundred years in regards to the  worship of  the angels ,and Mary and many other misrepresentation of the truth? Again being drifted away from the fact of Christ’s true identity as God.

Now why in chapters 7 and  8 and 9 of the Book of Hebrews the earthly and Heavenly sanctuaries are spoken about and are

Introduced and the priestly order is discussed,  why?  The writer of the letter to the Hebrew believers is trying to emphasize the difference between the two priesthoods and the two covenant why? Because an earthly man as a priest though called by God could not be the acceptable intercessor on behalf of a fallen created being like himself, and that without a perfect sacrifice. The presence of the sin nature in the Levitical priesthood could not allow their intercession to be effective in awaking man’s dead conscious.  Therefore a different order and a different kind of Intercessor was required. A mediator as Job prays for, who is both God and man. This is why no Mary or any saint dead or alive can be negotiating on man’s behalf  in regards for salvation and that for the remissions of sins to cleanse the conscious of man from the effects of the fall. This is why Mary the earthly vessel chosen by God carrying the incarnation of our lord can not be our intercessor before God, since she was a mere human.

Here also in Hebrews chapters 7 through 10 its writer explains that all human priests are to die one day, but Jesus Christ our High Priest is alive always and He is the One Who is in His Priestly position endlessly interceding for all at all times. The earthly priests after their death can no longer intercede, but He Who by His divine nature is God can intercede at all times.

Also in His divinity He is the author of all divine virtues and powers. He alone can raise the dead or heal the sick or bring deliverance to captives and provision for men. If it was not Him who created all things how could He have power over the nature and all that is created. Who could calm the sea and call for famines to stop.

Paul says in 1 Timothy 3:16

God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by Angeles, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, received up in glory.

Now having said all this some of us might ask then why or should we pray for people at all? Since we are all sinful men this side of glory. Or again we might think what about when we ask others for intercession? Is this a wrong thing to do in the parameters of the New Covenant in Christ for the same reasons? The answer is found in many places in the Bible, yet the letter of Apostle Paul to the Ephesians Church in chapter 3 answers it the best.

The Holy Spirit being in a born again believer while in this side of the glory is the seed of Christ in him, therefore the Bible tells us this makes us the priesthood of the New Covenant made through Christ’s High Priestly position. Therefore having been sealed by His Holy Spirit we who are still alive have this ministry of reconciliation through Him Who must be our guiding source of all prayers at all times. This is another reason why Christ Jesus divinity is the source of our access to God the Father.
