Entering into a new dimension of life called, Life in the Spirit

One of the most profound truths of the Bible is the reality of man’s creation in the likeness of God.

The Bible in the book of Genesis records that God created man in His own image and likeness. Saying “ Let Us make man in Our own image, according to Our likeness.” (Gen. 1:26 ) This speaks of the presence of God’s spirit likeness in man. Leaving the reality of Christ Christophany and the heavenly realm of eternity, we must acknowledge this one thing about our God that He in His creation left man the evidence of His being by breathing into His nostrils the Nafesh or the breath and at the same time gave man His likeness in giving him the spirit . Later on we read in John chapter 4 verse 24 where the Lord speaks to the Samaritan woman this profound truth about Himself and the method of worship He desires from all of us  by saying..

in John 4:24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth”.

What does this statement tell us the New Covenant worshippers about God and our relationship with Him? First and foremost I trust that Jesus our Lord was referring to a deeper need within the man that was to reunite in the spirit with His Creator. The connection that was severed by the first man Adam, who became an earthly being through the spiritual death that  accrued in him, through his transgression.

The reality of man’s resemblance to God in his creation is the presence of the spirit that is in him through birth. This alone tells us that man is the picture of God in the visible world.

Having this image marred through Adam The Lord restored it by His  appearance in the flesh as the Spiritual Adam.

This too brings us to the reality of the necessity of understanding John4:24completely before we can began to live  our lives in the Spirit.

In connection with the word spoken in John 4:24 a foundational truth is placed for all worshipers in all generations, and that is the mental ascent or the power of the mind can not satisfy the need that is in the spirit man to grasp God in His divinity and wholeness. Here the total essence of God’s existance is explained in Him being a spirit being. Meaning the connection with Him must be in the spirit realm, not in the physical and logical level. The human earthly wisdom can not grasp the things of God. This is why Apostle James says it in this way. “ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy”.  ( James  3:17)

Here I believe Apostle James is describing the futility of  all human wisdom in finding God  and pleasing Him. Man has a deeper and  a more dyer need to reclaim his position lost in Eden.

Man trough the fall is seeking for a physical height on which he could regain what was lost in the spirit realm and that is why he always stays dissatisfied until he regains it in the spirit. This is why through acts of the flesh called religious works he tries to rich what only is accessible in the spirit.

The law and its holy commandments were not a replacement of the necessity of the worship in the spirit, because through the law sin and death were pointed out. However the law of the spirit and life brought man to a restored relationship with his creator.

Every time we try to access the throne room with works of righteousness our access is denied, why ? Because the acts of the flesh are the fruits of the earthly wisdom and by product of the death that accrued through Adamic transgression.

This is why no height  reached in the strength of the flesh could give us an entrance to the presence of the God’s holiness.

That is why the greatest and only height that we can climb is the cross of our Lord. To join Him on the cross means to rich the highest level of our weakness in the flesh. This is where our Lord’s grace and presence meets us. This is where we deny the wisdom of our carnal nature in exchange for His heavenly nature of His divine rightousness. The law in its holiness was powerless to do this for man. It just proved the weakness of the flesh in performance. Here is where Jesus denies the righteousness of the earthly pursuit of worship of God in a physical form  and spoke with the Samaritan woman. Here is where all men fail to recognize God’s acceptable method of coming to Him. In a new and living way. Here is where our Lord rejects  our man made celebrations and festivals and gatherings where only flesh is glorified. This is where Isaiah 58 denies the abuse and the neglect of our bodies in the form fasting. Here is where the Lord reminds us of the necessity of worshiping Him in the Spirit and the truth.

Dear loved ones we have lost an important aspect of our lives and it is impossible to regain that in the natural. The earthly mindedness and our own earthly wisdom are incapable of producing what the spirit only is able to do. The best we think of the ways to rich God is nothing but an earthly Babylon created in our natural man’s mind, but the mind of spirit is far removed from this kind of fallacy. That is why the books of Proverbs  and Ecclesiastes both fail Solomon in understanding of God’s heavenly wisdom. Yes they had very good and wise teachings to guide men on this side of heaven, but they were never enough to bring man to the acceptable worship of God in the Spirit. Jesus in John 4:24declares this truth too, that apart from the life in the spirit nothing could or would satisfy God’s heart.

Men temporarily could be satisfied by earthly means and even become convinced in themselves of their piety in embracing religions of this earth, but this is not to say that the Lord has accepted their false sense of soulish deceptive security.

Here is the catch brethren. Men can satisfy their earthly appetites even of their soul by participating in many activities of the flesh, including practice of all false religions and even feel satisfied on the surface. Quenching their spirit need, yet in all their earthly efforts a deep hidden hunger and a thirst in their spirit remains, which is the evidence of their malice. We could always falsely in pretence walk in self made worship of our own created deities, yet in reality they can never replace our true need for The One and Only God who can only reveal Himself to us in His Son through our spirits.

Any other method or effort is nothing but a dissatisfying vanity of human reasoning. Here fall all false religions and meditations of the false deities’ including the practices of  all eastern religions  and the demonic methods of the so-called relaxation of the mind through all kinds of  artificial means like Yoga.

This includes also so called  Christian work based therapies and mind control methods.

The Bible says God is not mocked. Him being Spirit knows everything about us, even the intents of our heart. That is why Jesus said to the Samaritan woman “I know all your life and all your adulterous ways, yet you claim to be a worshiper of the One True God, and in your self deception you seek earthly places of outward religious acts, but what about your everyday life?” “ Do you think you can come here and call on My Name and then leave my presence and hide from Me in your everyday life?” That is why Jesus said to her you now need to worship God in the Spirit, that means from the bottom of your heart. From where you were made in My Image and from where I visit and see men everyday, and that in The Truth.  Not your own fabricated truth called earthly wisdom, but according to the truth of the word of God in the power of the Holy Spirit.

This enables men to live according to the Spirit  and in all Truth.

This is why the word says through Paul in Romans that “ They are the sons of God who are lead by the Spirit of God”. If we begin to live in the spirit we have said no to compromise of all kinds and are open to hear the Lord and His excellent Spirit in all matters, even the ones that are burdensome to our natural nature or the flesh. Here is where we shall be guided by His Spirit in all matters of righteousness and Holiness being perfect by His Spirit and word unto eternal life.

Those who attend services and do religious acts, yet walk contrary to the word and the revealed  truth, they are saying to God we are not willing to come into the true worship commanded by You.

This is why I believe the Lord rebukes the Pharisees in the Church that are putting heavy burdens on peoples shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to take a little  bit from it upon themselves.

This is why I believe Jesus our Messiah and Lord performed the best form of worship. What he preached to others He lived in their midst. He left the only true legacy for us all. He went in the True Spirit of His Father to the cross shedding His innocent blood in living what He believed was the mission of His incarnation on earth.

His cross represented His truthfulness in His confession of love towards His heavenly Father and His brethren called men. And His shed blood spoke of the price it involved to prove His worship in the Spirit and Truth. He truly loved until the end. He died to Adam to bring the Spiritual Adam into His inheritance in God. His life and worship was in guidance and the diligence of the Spirit and all of that in the heavenly Truth.

By This He left The Legacy of a higher righteousness lost through the first man and regained by Him in the Spirit.
