Caught by His unfathomable grace

12

The most profound beauty of an awesome God is to tap into His majestic love for His creation in an unfathomable grace through His foreknowledged act of election through grace.

In the entire story of 1 Samuel chapter 9 and 10 we can be profoundly  amazed on His methods of calling His elect to Himself.

Men going on their own way of their daily lives in obedience of their earthly tasks are suddenly brought to their eternal destiny with God.

In this heart moving story of predestined election through grace we are reassured of God’s plan of election according to grace.

Caught by His grace is an amazing story of courage in these difficult times of stormy seasons of testing of our faith. The story of a young man in search for his father’s lost donkeys when in reality is being setup for the kingdom of Israel is the beginning of our word today.

This tells us our destiny in God cannot be altered when there is a call on our lives. This man was marked for God and caught by grace when he was least looking for it. His usual daily duties were the means through which he went exactly where he needed to be found by God.

Isn’t this awesome, how God has our steps  ordered at times, yet we are often trying to figure him out in our human limited perception?

The Old Covenant scriptures tells us this amazing story of an ordinary young man who all of a sudden is elevated  by God to a place of honor at his lowest point of humility, following the suggestion of his fathers servant in an unknown city. This is where we can truly taste the greatest miracles of all when we least expect them to come in a matter of few hours this man meets his destiny in God. Saul is anointed king in the hands of Samuel God’s chosen vessel of honor. He now is asked to walk in his destiny in God by a fresh new outlook on his life.  Well we do not stop there in seeing the Lord’s amazing grace at work in ordinary people like you and me. The next such election through grace is another young man who was being trained in the sheep pen not knowing the hands of God is being stretched to him for being caught by His grace for promotion.

His name is David, a mere shepherd boy who is not being overridden by God’s grace. While tending his own father’s sheep, totally unaware of his future destiny in God David is now being trained by Him through God’s unfathomable soverignly.

You see these men were not looking for such training or promotion, the training and the promotion came to them.

None of such men were seeking to be where they were elevated to, they were just faithful in their small obedience’s while in their fathers houses.

To men they seemed the least qualified for the promotion and their own training were disguised in the norms. Yet in the Lords economy they were His true chosen vessels. David was killing lions and tending Lambs, meaning faithfully he was fulfilling a shepherd’s normal duty not knowing he was being trained for killing giants and  for soon protecting the entire armies of the nation of Israel from it’s enemies.

Yes these men were caught by His grace and trained by Him secretly to subdue nations in bringing glory to God’s majesty according to His predestined eternal plan and purpose in Him.

These were caught by His unfathomable grace in their mother’s womb and were protected by Him through sovereignty.

Others like Gideon were threshing wheat in the winepress when they were suddenly caught by His grace.

These were all men like you and I who went about their normal lives until the heaven’s grace met them for their incredible task. None of these looked for such an unfathomable love and election of grace in their lives. They were just ordinary people and some with ordinary earthly dreams.

Elisha was another such man who was tending his father’s sheep when Elijah noticed him through God’s sovereign call and was trained by Elijah for his huge promotion in his office with a mantle of double anointing to carry on God’s predestined plan in his life in glorifying God’s Name.

So were Abraham and Joseph and Moses. Men who in their wildest dream could not understand their call and their journey and even their training for promotion.

Men like Moses were caught off guard by their callings and magnificence of the glory of God catching them in the most unusual places under the most unfathomable circumstances.

It was The Lord’s call and not their own, it was His timing and not their own, and it was in His own chosen method and not their own,

Yet they never escaped to be noticed and to be caught by grace in God’s own magnificent  way.

Yes Church it was God’s election through love that met these men not their own even best choices.

Again even in the New Covenant we see it was Jesus who caught them by grace when He called Simon Peter and hisbrother Andrew. Again it was The Lord’s sovereign grace meeting them at the place of their usual life circumstances. It was an ordinary day with a bad catch for Simon son of Jonah when the Lord found and commissioned him.

It was not them seeking the Lord, but it was the Lord’s predestined will through election of grace meeting them exactly where they were. Promotion and calling came to them not them seeking to be noticed for promotion.

It was the amazing grace following them and not the other way around. Today men are seeking to be noticed and elevated and are wanting for men to take notice of them, where with God it is the other way around.

It is not by might, nor power, but by My Spirit says the lord of Hosts.

Oh yes the sovereign grace followed men like Levi to their place of business and found them just as they were and changed them to become Matthew’s.  Men who one day would be honored in writing the gospel of their Lord to be presented to the Jews and world for everyone’s salvation.

Have I said enough to have said I, that it is not our best efforts or our own rightousness standing, but God’s grace that follows us in our ordinary to make an extra ordinary men out of us.

It is God’s own rod who trains men and not our own best desired teachers or locations of training either. As in 2nd Samuel the Lord speaks to King David about Salomon’s training by saying …. “ I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity I will chasten him with the rod of men and the blows of the sons of men, but My mercy shall not depart from him”. 2 Samuel 7:14

In closing how could I neglect to remind us of being caught by His grace that follows us even to our graves. Having such an unfathomable love for His own elect He did not stop to follow them in the deadness of their flesh, but brought life wherever death had formerly taken hold of them.

Even in His delays He never denied them to be captured by His grace. What else could He do for the objects of His mercy through grace. It was not Lazarus who went to find Him but it was The Lord who looked to be glorified even in his death.

Now have I said enough to say it is all being caught by His grace? Or should I say more? Yes His delays is never His denials. It is just a mere few second in His sovereign plan before He will come for us and he will not tarry.

He who has called us is faithful and will come just at the right moment, if we would not stop believing in His promises.

Then let us stop figuring Him or His ways out, since He says in His word. My ways are not your ways and My thoughts are not your thoughts. The longer we try to figure Him out, the later we will enter His rest. Let us stop looking in all the wrong places for Him to bless us, But let us trust in His ability to find us exactly where we are.

Let us stop playing God and let God be God.

Just the same way when you and I first were found by Him.  Yes to seek Him diligently is what pleases Him, but that is in His word and in spending time in His presence, not looking for Him in highways and byways as though you have lost Him.

The ones on the road to Emmaus were not looking for Him it was Jesus who found them where they were.

It is the Lord’s pleasure to bestow upon us the Kingdom, therefore it is Him who is seeking to be found by you and me. Just as He found us through our life circumstances years or months or days ago, He will be the One coming to you and I for the fulfillment of His plan and purpose in us.

It is Him who has predestined us to bring Him glory and it is His great love that pursues us to the end.

And finally let us not also run from Him as a foolish bride who’s heart has been set on departure, just because she has not seen immediate results in her own preconceived  estimation. I believe for the elect the best is yet to come. It is not in our own strength of the flesh that we can either run away from Him or His allotted stormy seasons, but to say to the Lord I just want to be aware of myself being caught up Your grace.

Folks let us not run from Him in this last hour, but let us run to Him. Having confidence that the good work which He has begun in us,  He  too will complete it to the day of Jesus Christ.  Come let us allow Him to catch us by His amazing lovethrough His unfathomable mercy in grace.

Remember it is not done until He says it is done, and that His delays are never His denials. Let us just have faith in the race called salvation through grace.

God Bless
