A miracle is in progress – We must silence the voices

In the gospel according to Mark chapter 5 we read a wonderful parallel story of God’s miracle working power back to back.
In verses 21 to 43 of these beautiful acts of God’s grace we see two powerful demonstrations of God’s divine healing performed on behalf of two women. An older woman with a 12 year bleeding problem and another one a young 12 year old daughter of a synagogue ruler.
Both performed in the miraculous power of the healing that brought amazement to all. This was the power of the hand of God stretched to heal those who’s only hope has become the Lord Jesus.
Both divine, and both in the power of faith. Faith being the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. ( Hebrews 11:1)
This is our message today. A message of hope and deliverance.
The first woman Mark is describing as a woman who was suffering with years of hemorrhage and bleeding. A wealthy woman once who had spent all his livelihood on doctors and medicine, and the scripture tells us her condition had grown worst instead of improving. All her earthly hopes and dreams of living healthy this side of heaven had been exhausted. A very good candidate of a heavenly miracle performed by God.
The only true source of all healing and deliverance. The Bible says when by faith she stretched out her hand to touch the Messiah for healing He felt power go from Him and heal the person. When He asked, His disciples they did not recognize this respond, since many were around Him who thronged Him. But Jesus said … “ Who Touched my cloths?” Then He said it again “ Who Touched Me”.
Finally we hear a man named Jairus a synagogue ruler who have asked the Lord to go heal his sick daughter approaching the Master. An equivalent of today’s pastor was this man in Jesus’s time. While he was still talking to the Lord we read some from his own house hold came and told Jairus the synagogue ruler your daughter is dead why trouble the Teacher any further.
WOW what a deep truth about Satan’s attacks on the faithful.
Do you hear what it says here?
While he talked to the Lord the messengers of the Satan instigating the members of his own household is bringing a bad and false report to Jairus. Yes it is the same today, when you and I are full of faith and are praying or talking to God for healing, the messengers of the evil one come to cause fear and unbeleif in us.
As you and I begin to pray Satan begins
His own evil tactics. The Bible says Jairus by faith was speaking to the Lord when they came to Him with an ill report. Oh how true it is with us today. As soon as you & I start approaching God and His throne through prayer the worst news comes to us to stop you and I from our pleading for our faith, and that often from the members of our own households. Who else can convince us or hurt us the most, the closest ones to us. Yes Satan knows how to attack us in our weakest times, but praise to God for His divine and loving intervention on our behalf.
The word says as soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “ Do not be afraid ; only believe.”. See here is the key. Jesus rebuked the spirit of fear. Fear blocks faith and blocks the miracle that is going to take place. It was not he little girls faith that would heal her in this case like the women with the issue of blood, here it was the parents faith that would
Allow Jesus’s healing miracle to take place. Then we read that Jesus allowed or permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. Why? Because not all have faith to accompany a miracle in our lives. Many by their pessimism and unbeleif block the power of His miracle working grace. Just like in Nazareth, where even Jesus due to their unbeleif could not perform many great works there. You see here only faith could produce hope and hope could call on the Divine virtue of God’s healing power and only few where given such faith in hope.
Of course the parents of the child remained with Him, since they would truly seek His hand of healing on their child.
Later on in verse 35 we read Jesus had to silence the tumult and loud voices of the wailing people, since their unbelief and their voice of grief prevented the Lord to perform His act of mercy for this child.
When Jesus came in He said “ Why make this commotion and weep? The Child is not dead, but sleeping?” He did stop the voices, yes we need to do the same. The next verse said they were ridiculing Him, but He put them out.
These are the divine lesson’s for healing Church.
Put out the ridiculing unbelievers from your houses and stop intermixing with the unbelievers in such situations. There are many whom you consult who have no faith. These are the enemies of your miracle. Come out of them and be separated from them Paul says in Corinthians so the Lord will receive you.
We want God’s miracles, yet are not ready to put the wailing and unbelieving out of our lives and then wonder why God did not listen to our prayers for healing.
We must close our ears to their voices who are speaking fear and unbeleif to us.
In verse 41 the gospel according to Mark chapter 5 says… Then He took the Child by the hand and said to her, “ Talitta, Cumi,” which is translated “ Little girl, I say to you arise”. Then the next verse says
“ Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.
But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it. And said that something should be given to her to eat.”
But why should no one know about this great miracle of God? Truly why?
The reason is the same way the faith of the few helped God’s healing to be manifested, the unbeleif of many could bring doubt and steal the fruit of their faith, which was the healing of this young girl.
Remember on his way to seek healing for his daughter the enemy tried to hinder this miracle by fear and unbeleif, so it was the case afterward I believe.
Many who have no faith, by seeing the physical circumstances of the evidences of this fallen world are skeptics in their puffed up imaginations and that is why their faith never matures or blossoms in God. They remain unfruitful in their spiritual blindness and these are the ones that we need to leave behind.
We can not live in both world’s and still wanting to be blessed or approved by God. We can not ask to be in spiritual harlotry with the world and still wanting to see God working in our midst to the end.
We can not want to walk with the blind, yet keep our sight clear of their influences of blindness in our own lives. We need to make a choice. Whom do we want to belong to. To God or to the Devil. Who’s kingdom do we belong to.
The unbelieving see all things dead, yet to the spiritually enlightened different reality remains to be seen.
The scripture testifies that Jairus’s daughter was not dead, but sleeping and when she rose she was given to her parents to take care of her.
Here we are today. We too anticipate many miracles in our midst today, how many of us are ready to give their lives to receive the miracle life in our arms as this synagogue ruler and his wife did? We are now once again by faith tapping into the miracle working realm of our sovereign Lord and we believe His spirit is with us again today to give us the same mercy shown to His chosen beloved.
The question remains. Would you hear His command to silence the voices of negativism and fear around you and are you willing to hear the voice of His Spirit, that says you are healed and today you are set free for ever?
The choice is ours to make. The scripture says the power to chose life and death is given to us. Chose life and you will live.
