A dedication for becoming mindful of the things of God
The greatest focus of our today’s message is how to become a true prophetic generation in this mixed up and chaotic world full of different voices.
The Elisha generation of people who would discern between the voices and will obey their Father’s voice even to their harm. As discussed on Thursday night Satan too is roaring right now in our midst to discourage and disqualify many form the race before us that is soon going to end in eternal glory.
Yet God is still calling us to be good hearers and quick obeying people in response to His divine voice.
The young Samuel was raised in Eli’s house to personally discern the voice of God and His divine oracles in response to a call from heaven and so are we.
Our Lord the greatest High Priest of our calling is calling us to sharpen our spiritual ears in hearing His voice.
In many settings in the New Testament Jesus is asking His beloved to choose the better over the less important and that is to come and seat at the Masters feet to hear His voice over the many voices that can be heard while even serving Him.
It is my duty as His under shepherd to equip you for your own hearing ability, so when my assignment is finished here you would be the army prepared for His service in true obedience to accomplish His task through you in your service of obedience to Him in all honesty and diligence.
The divine mandate is calling us to stop being mindful of the things of this world, which is what mere men would follow, and is calling us to Aliyah ( Step Higher) in our response to our Godly calling. Jesus could not see Martha being so busy in Serving Him that she would neglect the essential part of her calling, which was to develop a true hearing ear to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Stop thinking like mere men and come up higher with Me is almost what I hear when I read Matthew chapter 16 verse 23-27.
Today’s message is how do we really hear?
You see in this passage of scripture Jesus is introducing Peter the better way. The Only way to inherit the everlasting Kingdom of God.
Here The Lord is saying there is a way that seems right to men and that leads to death and He was determined to teach Peter the higher way, which included giving heed to things of God and not men. He was saying to Peter no matter how much I love you Peter, but your human ways of thinking is an offense to Me and My mission. He was telling Peter when you think as men do, you think as the Devil moves you to speak, since you are mindful of saving your soul and not letting it go for service to Me and My divine mission of complete abandonment of all things dear to me in this life called flesh.
It frightens me how even Christians are blindfolded by the enemy in many directions. How the truth is being masqueraded as a lie and how the lie of the enemy is camouflaged as the truth of God these days.
Even the large number of the so called elite are being swiped away by the false doctrines of the demonic, in believing the false prophecies of these final days in exchange for God’s real truth.
Jesus said any one desiring to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me, yet many like Peter’s first human inclination are suggesting to do exactly contrary.
Jesus refused to hear Peter in saving Himself from the cross. He chose the things of God over saving His own life, yet today we hear much about saving our lives and very seldom a message of giving up our lives for Him.
Wanting to save our lives in every corner we still name and claim the very things we are asked to give up for His name sake.
Many are offered wrongfully crowns that will fade away in the age to come, yet few are being told about the hard truth. Yes the same passage in Matthew’s gospel promises reward ‘s for each man according to their measure of faith in action, yet not until Jesus comes the second time with His angels to usher in His millennial reign in the age to come.
Peter eventually through God’s unfathomable grace understood the difference between things of man and God and in His two letters he completely presents the truth of God when it comes to suffering for Christ’s Name sake.
His two epistles are written to the suffering Christians in all the world and He himself follows the Lord’s example by being crucified outside of Rome upside dawn.
A man who once denied Christ’s true mission, one day became a true follower of Christ in deed. His Aliyah in the faith was so far above others that he was not ready even to face death as his own master and Lord did. He saw himself unworthy of such normal crucifixion and requested a more difficult death.
He finally heard to Lord’s true out cry for being mindful of God’s things and not men’s.
To day when God is allowing any kind of suffering in the lives of His saints to qualify us for the eternal crown that would not fade we all scream and cry for help to save our lives from what is meant to glorify God in our profession of faith.
As Apostle Peter says we too treat suffering as though something strange has happened to us.
We have totally forgot how to hear clearly, since a lot of spiritual wax has clogged up our ears.
Like the rich young ruler we too want to enter into eternal life by preserving what prevents entrance. Many modern rich young rulers are keeping what they should have let go for the Kingdom entrance and then when they fall at the Lord’s feet they ask with a surprising tone why? What kept me from pursuing that which I though I was on my way to receive? Are you facing a challenge or a closed door, which might be just a warning sign from the Lord to make a U Turn in faith? Are we calling our spiritual giants a hindrance or a door to overcome the mindset of the world?
You see many crowed around the crowds that will be mindful of the things of this world. Who are we crowding after?
Are we willing to fall on His lap for a final breath of a true fresh air? Or are we blinded like the gentile prophet Balaam and the donkey’s we are riding on have more insight than us?
You see we need to realize His death followed by a resurrection and that His tomb is the only one empty. Are you and I willing to follow His path to a better resurrection? Or we to are not yet trained in hearing the true voice and are walking in the strength of our own human ways of coming to Him?
What does this empty tomb represent to you and me? A resurrected life? An eternal abode with God ? Then I question why do we still listen the another voice? Why not train while we can for the only true voice?
Not our own voice, not he voice of men around us, and not even our own understanding of the word, but His real voice that might be saying embrace my cross in this matter, since there is a hope of resurrection beyond this grave.
What is that is so scary that you holdback from God? You Pride, Your Ego? Your love for God? Your Money? What?
