Death and life are in the power of the tongue

1

The most profound word in the scriptures is this verse in John chapter 1 verse 1. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Then the scriptures continue to declare “He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.” These words bring us to the message I like to share with each other on this Christmas Sunday. The message that is titled; “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”. (Proverbs 18:21) Here is where all began through the ...Read More...

A lesson from the Master

1

The greatest lesson any man can learn from a loving God is His grace for giving. The most familiar words from the New Covenant are found in this, that the scriptures say “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) What an amazing unveiling of the heart of God. He loved first therefore He gave. Right here we discover a great mystery unveiled through His Majestic Spirit. This teaches us the motive behind His giving. This divine act of God was based on His love. The intent behind His giving was love. True love motivates to give. This is why many do not understand the gospel, ...Read More...

Mary of Bethany is the subject of our massage tonight

1

The identification of this woman in the life of our Lord and Savior is always of a question. Many of the scholars mistaken her with the woman called Mary Magdalena of the Galilee. The passage in Luke is similar to the story of Jesus being anointed by this woman, and is often confused with this Mary of Bethany.  If we are to understand the story of Jesus anointed by a sinful woman, we need to disentangle it from the story of Jesus’ anointing at Bethany near the end of his ministry (Matthew 26:6-13; Mark 14:1-11; John 12:1-10). The two events are confused easily enough because of several similarities: Jesus is anointed with expensive perfume, He is anointed by a woman. the ...Read More...

What did Jesus mean when He said to be found worthy?

1

Many of us thinking about the words “to be worthy” think immediately of being found deserving, and that is good thinking, but in what sense? Being found worthy for the Kingdom entrance, or being found worthy of God? These are questions we would like to answer tonight. In Matthew chapter 10 Jesus commissioning His twelve in verses 5 through 42 says the amazing truth about finding men who would be worthy of them and worthy of the disciples’ words and that makes tonight’s sermon even more meaning full. Now let us read these wonderful scriptures. Jesus commissioning them said “Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10 nor bag for your journey, ...Read More...

When Praise becomes a lifestyle!

1

What is praise? Praise means “to commend, to applaud or magnify.” For the Christian, praise to God is an expression of worship, lifting-up and glorifying the Lord. It is an expression of humbling ourselves and centering our attention upon the Lord with heart-felt expressions of love, adoration and thanksgiving. High praises bring our spirit into a pinnacle of fellowship and intimacy between ourselves and God — it magnifies our awareness of our spiritual union with the most high God. Praise transports us into the realm of the supernatural and into the power of God. “Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance” ...Read More...

Wrath of the Lamb of God

1

One of the most common references to Jesus Christ is what the Bible says about Him and that is “He is the Lamb of God”. We hear this identifying name of our Savior and see Him as Who He was in His first advent in emptying Himself in the likeness of sinful flesh. The scriptures say that He was slained before the foundations of the world. In this the word is giving us His redemptive picture, and by this we learn that His blood was the atoning blood that which was given on the altar. The eternal sacrifice that cleanses all men’s sins and the only way to the Father. Throughout the entire new covenant scripture we learn about Him as our only means to the Father and that by His own ...Read More...

When godly men and their influences are taken out, where would men stand?

1

2 Chronicles 24th chapter The Chronicles of the Kings of Israel speak of an interesting truth about a young king in Judah the grandson of the wicked queen Atalyah daughter of Queen Jezebel. This young man’s name was Joash. King Joash was placed in the kingdom by the help of his uncle priest Jehoiada from a very young age. The word of the Lord in 2nd Chronicles chapter 24 verse 1 says “Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba” then in verse two the scripture tell us that Joash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest. In verse three we read that ...Read More...

He also said “I AM THE WAY

1

Today let us study another one of His threefold pronouncement of His sixth I AM’s, which would brings us to another dimension of His eternal Godhead. How amazing is this that we claim to know Him, but when studying His being we see how little we know about Him. On our third week of studying Jesus’s proclamation of His deity we must stop on this word that He said about Himself “I AM THE WAY”. As we all should have known by now that He was the promised Messiah to Israel first and that the Old Testament had been leading the Jews to recognize Him when He would appear, but in all of that  the majority failed miserably so that salvation could come to us the gentiles. In recognizing ...Read More...
