Selah

12

Selah is an Old Covenant word used by the psalmists like King David of Israel. Many of us in reading the scriptures see this word, but ignore its significance and continue with our reading as though this word has no meaning. I wonder why? Why is this very important part of the word receive such a little attention? In the meaning of the word Selah I now see a great importance, which Satan and all his hosts have no pleasure in its revelation to us. I trust it is a very threatening weapon in the hand of the believers if they truly knew its power. Today by God’s grace given to me in Christ Jesus I would like to expand on this frequently forgotten and misunderstood or better to say ...Read More...

The offence of the cross

12

The message of the cross is the most offensive message of all messages. Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Church in chapter 1 verse 23 calls its message an unpopular message to the point of being an offensive message to the perishing. Why is this message calling for an offensive respond? Can the death of our Lord Jesus be an offence to anyone?  Is it His death on the cross that causes offence or is it the message it bares that offends people? These are some of our probing questions that tonight we would like to touch on. I trust both of these subjects have very true means of causing an offence. First a Savior who seems very weak through being crucified by a very degrading death. ...Read More...

For where you treasure is there your heart will also be

12

This saying of Jesus our Lord is a great indication of the presence of the true faith in the hearts of men. God knowing the intents of the heart places a very great emphasis on where the heart of men is. This is why one of the most talked about issues in the word of God is money. There are many examples in the Bible that speak about the stewardship of the temporal things in this life and how God would take that as the measure of Him trusting us in the life to come. In these words of our Lord in Matthew 6:21 and Luke 12:34 He is trying to show us that the most treasured place in our lives is where our heart is. Meaning by looking at man’s actions and where he/she spends his hard ...Read More...

Why Do the Nations Rage?

1

In Psalm 2 this question is asked: “Why do the nations rage?” Ofcource this tone of questioning is  presenting an ancient argument of the rage that is going on within the nations who are bond under the dominion of the ruler of this age  who is Satan, and their rage is against the Lord and His eternal King. Against the Messiah or the anointed One. Today on this Thursday the 5th day of may 2011, on national day of prayer many around this nation are gathered to pray. Majority knowing the time or the season they live in are calling for peace around the world. Although we all do agree that this is a very good reason to pray nationally or corporately or even globally, yet the true ...Read More...

Rock of our refuge

1

The Bible says that say we believe in God, but according to James the half brother of our Lord even the demons believe that there is a God and are even terrified of Him, however they do not trust or obey Him. There is a sea of difference between believing and trusting. The Bible is full of stories of men and women, who said they did believe in God, but yet when it came to trust Him in His ways, and in His word they trusted themselves more than the God they claim to believe.  We all have this earthly state of unbeleif in us that the Lord wants us to walk away from. In proverbs 3 verses 5 and 6 the word says” Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own ...Read More...

Apostacy the most abhorent sin

1

The Bible calls forth a worldwide turning away from the previously known truth which would happen before the second coming of the Lord. Paul in his second letter to the Thessalonian believers says that the coming of the Antichrist must proceed with a general widespread turning away from the truth. This widespread turning away would happen as a pre requisite to the coming of the Lawless one. This man that the Bible calls Him the lawless one must be a man who would completely live a profane life. A life completely devoted to the principals of this fallen world. God’s laws of righteousness and justice would be totally ignored by him. He would be a perfect image of the fallen humanity, ...Read More...
